Beyond his work in entertainment, JBA is deeply committed to mentorship and industry access for Indigenous and BIPOC creatives. What began as an internal training initiative through HERD of 1 MEDIA in 2016, evolved into a one-off pilot project in 2022 under the banner Counting Coup, eventually leading to the launch of the Pathfinders Film Institute in 2023 , a BIPOC subsidized, community-based training program focused on certified film education, mentorship, and creating meaningful pathways into the film and television industry for the next generation of storytellers.
